Passive Fire Protection Penetration Seals

Fire rated service penetration seals are used to maintain the fire resistance of a fire separating element (wall, floor or ceiling). They include services such as electrical, mechanical and hydraulic which can vary in size and penetrate different types of fire rated building elements.

Services penetrate building elements throughout an entire building. The Building Code (BCA) requires that services penetrating fire rated building elements be treated and sealed to maintain the fire resistant of the element penetrated. In accordance with the BCA the fire resistance level (FRL) required for the penetration seal can be different to the FRL of the element. This FRL is determined by many factors. It is therefore extremely important to confirm the correct FRL and product are selected to achieve compliance.

Please contact us before selecting a penetration seal to confirm it is appropriate for your particular application.
